Trains, boats & automobiles

While our location in East Portlemouth is remote, there are a number of ways to get to us and once you're here, it will all seem worth it. Most people choose to drive, with each of our accommodation options providing parking for at least one car.

If you decide to leave the car at home, it's possible to get here using public transport by catching a train to Totnes and then a bus to Kingsbridge or Salcombe. We're happy to arrange transfers for you from either of those local towns, either crossing the estuary from Salcombe by boat or picking you up in Kingsbridge. Just contact us before you arrive to make the necessary arrangements.

Once settled in, many guests at Meadow Barn Farm don't use their vehicles until it's time to go home. With the passenger ferry to Salcombe just a short walk away, plus a range of beautiful beaches and walks nearby, it's easy to return to a simpler way of living.
